Happy Friday!

So happy that it’s finally the weekend! Do you have any fun plans? I’m always excited just to have a little more down time!

This blush dress caught my eye on the asos website a few weeks ago – I just thought it would be the perfect nude-ish dress for spring and summer. Blush is a great neutral and I love to pair it with similar tones.

And let’s just take a moment for these shoes. I mean…they look almost exactly like the Valentino pair and they were a fraction of the cost. Plus, they’re comfy. Win, win in my book.

I hope you have a great Friday and a great weekend!

Our Love Story | from high school sweethearts to walking down the aisle

our love story
Happy Wedding Wednesday! I hope you’re having a great week so far!

This series has been so fun for me to share with you guys, and I hope you’re enjoying it, too! I pray that it is helpful for some of you soon-to-be-brides, almost soon-to-be-brides, or wedding and love lovers like me!

This video was so fun for us to make, and it was shot by one of the most talented videographers – Andrew Yontz at Andrew Yontz Productions. If you’re in the south (or anywhere, really), I highly recommend you check him out!

We showed this “love story” video to our rehearsal dinner guests, and it was such a special moment. It was really nice to document how we fell in love through video, and to hear it right before we were about to be married made it even better. It was one of my favorite things about the whole weekend!

I hope you enjoy! ūüôā

All my love!

Beauty Products I Love | favorites in makeup, hair care and fragrance

favorite beauty products

Happy Monday and Happy Spring (so excited to finally say that!)!

How was your weekend? It seemed to fly by (per usual!), but it was pretty laid back for me. I did a little more spring cleaning and rested after a hard week. I’m so looking forward to this new week. That’s the best thing about Mondays – the new week is fresh and has all the possibility to bring great things.

These items above are some of those favorite beauty products that I constantly reach for. Honestly, I use these items daily and I don’t see myself switching them up any time soon. The foundation, number 5, is one that I have used for YEARS. When I’m going for a fuller coverage this is the one I go to. I sometimes even mix it with a more luminous foundation for a lighter finish.

1\\ This Dior lipstick is sheer but gorgeous. It provides a light pink color that’s perfect for every day. I recently picked this up at Sephora after seeing so many people rave about it, and, of course, here I am, too, raving about it haha!

2\\ I’ve mentioned this sheet mask before, and it’s still a go-to for me. I love that it clears away redness and hydrates my skin. I am ALL about hydration. A trick with this or any other sheet mask is to take all the left over juice in the bottom of the packet and put it on your neck and the back of your hands – those are the places on your body that show age the most quickly, so keeping them hydrated is key!

3\\ OH MY WORD. This pillowcase will change your life. I know, I know, it’s pricey. BUT, it keeps your hair smooth, helps your skin to stay hydrated through the night, reduces lines and wrinkles (cotton pillowcases tug the skin on your face causing premature signs of aging). It’s high quality and feels so lux and soft. SO WORTH THE PRICE.

4\\ The best hair texturizer ever. I love this stuff. I had tried so many texturizers from the drug store and they just were ‘ehh.’ So, when I finally spent the extra money on this one, I fell in love. It makes all the difference for beachy waves, which have been my favorite style lately. (More to come on my hair!)

5\\ I mentioned this foundation above! It’s an oldie but a goodie. Seriously, if you’re into full coverage and you haven’t tried this one out yet, do it!

6\\ This is my everyday favorite. It’s soft and feminine, but still lasts all day! Plus, who doesn’t love Dior?

7\\ OBSESSED with this night oil. I put it on my face and neck (and rub the leftover on the back of my hands), and when I wake up, my skin is still hydrated. That says a lot since my skin is SO dry lately. This is a brand that knows and has perfected their skincare!

8\\ Since I have stopped getting lash extensions for a little while (I love them, but I just wanted to save some money and grow out my natural lashes), I decided I needed some products that would lengthen my God-given lashes haha! So, this one from Lancome has been a product I reach for ALL the time. It completely changes how my mascara applies and really helps to give me that dramatic lash I love. I tend to change up my mascara a lot, and no matter which one I’ve used so far, this primer makes a huge difference!

I hope this gives you some good ideas for products to add to your wish list! You can’t go wrong with any of them!

Have a great start to your week!

All my love!

wedding dress guide | advice for finding your perfect dress and what mine looked like!

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you’re having a great day and a great week so far! Last week we started a new series for Wednesdays called “Wedding Wednesdays!” I am so excited to share advice with you about all wedding-related topics! Please reach out and let me know if there is something in particular you’d like to see!

I got several questions about my wedding dress and how I picked it, so I am happy to share my experience and tips! I read a TON of books about how to select the best gown Рwith advice based on body type, skin tone, wedding style, etc.

However, I will say that even though I thought I knew exactly what I wanted, and it lined up perfectly with the style of wedding I was having (formal, winter wedding) and my body type, when I actually got to the wedding dress¬†shop to try it on, I kept a very open mind. After trying on several of the kind I thought I wanted, I tried on exactly the opposite of what I thought and that ended up being the one I fell in love with. It broke all the rules I had set for myself and what I wanted my dress to be, but it was the one I felt the best in. It was the one that made me feel like a bride. I could picture walking down the aisle to my future husband in it, and that ended up being the feeling¬†I had heard so much about how you “just knew” it was the right dress.

I slept on the idea, and I sort of tried to fight it and revert back to what I thought I was supposed to do, but in the end I knew this was the perfect gown! My family and friends all loved it, and even though it was different than what they pictured, they thought it was perfect for me, too!

So, I tell you that to say: Go in with an open mind! Definitely research and see what might be the dress type you want to try, but be open to another style if it ends up being what looks and, more importantly, feels best!

You’ll read a ton of advice about what would be the right dress on paper for you, but I truly feel that this decision is about feeling. So, if you feel that it’s the best for you, it is. Don’t let rules dictate what you wear on your big day.

Also, when you pick out the bridal boutique you are going to, make it fun for you! If that means you want to take an entire crew, do it! But, know that everyone will have an opinion, so be prepared to make time for alone-reflection-time to really make your decision.

I had the best experience at the bridal boutique¬†I chose. If you’re in the Tennessee area, give Maggie Louise a call.

I am always very careful about recommending only places or products that I really,¬†really¬†love because I want you to know that it’s something worth your time. I never want to be someone who just refers things for the heck of it.

So, saying that, I really felt (again, for me it’s about feeling) cared about. They care about each bride who walks in and it shows. If it hadn’t been for them taking the time to talk with me and get the feel of my relationship and wedding ideas, I never would have tried on the gown I ended up choosing.

All in all, be patient, be open and be excited! This is YOUR big moment. Enjoy it. It’s okay to take your time and try many options. But, when you know it’s the right one, be content in that.

I’m a woman of faith, so I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you to pray about this decision, too. I just pray about everything, and it kind of took me a while to be like that. I guess before I thought maybe some things were too small to pray about, but if you care about it, it’s not too small to God. He cares about you and wants you to be happy. He wants to take the burden from you, so just pray. ūüôā

I sincerely hope this helps you, and seriously, please reach out in the comments or on social media (I respond quickly on instagram’s comment section). I’d be SO happy to help. Wedding dresses (and wedding stuff, in general) is so fun for me to talk about.

All my love!

pink cold shoulder dress with ruffles | a few of my favorite trends for spring!

pink cold shoulder dress

pink cold shoulder dress pink cold shoulder dress pink cold shoulder dress pink cold shoulder dress pink cold shoulder dress pink cold shoulder dress

Happy Monday!

I am ALL about this dress for so many reasons. It incorporates three of my favorite trends for spring and summer: pink, ruffles, and cold shoulder!

I have always loved pink, really for any season, but especially for the warmer months! This piece is actually kind of structured, so the pink color brings more femininity to it. Also, the ruffles really add to it, too!

Ruffles are a favorite for everything, but I am always careful about placement because they can add bulk. The ruffles on the shoulders don’t add bulk to my frame, and they’re super cute. That’s a win in my book!

By now you know I love cold shoulder/off the shoulder! I think it’s flattering for so many shapes and sizes. I’ve been wearing it pretty much all winter since we’ve got milder weather where I live, and I’ll definitely keep it going through spring and summer!

I hope you had a great weekend! We were all about spring cleaning! I feel so much better with everything clean and organized now! I can be a little bit of a pack rat haha. I attach sentimentality to everything, so I’ve always got to remind myself that I just can’t keep everything. I’d love to hear your tips and tricks for staying organized, too!

Have a great day! ūüôā

This post is something a little bit different, but something I get asked about quite often! Our engagement photos were taken last spring about a year after we got engaged – if you don’t know, Cody and I were engaged for about a year and a half!

Anyway, I decided that I would start a new series for Wednesdays that would focus completely on engagement, wedding and marriage ideas and advice! In “Wedding Wednesdays,” I can answer any questions that you might have about any of these topics!

So, about these photos…Our wedding photographer shot these in Birmingham, Alabama, and this was our first trip there. We really enjoyed seeing a new city and actually really loved being there!

We had already had some taken by Cody’s mom, who is an amazing photographer, too. Those were taken in the fall and had a different kind of outdoorsy feel to them, so we decided we would do these in the city and would keep the style very classic and timeless.

I love black, white and red together. It just gives such a vintage vibe, and that’s something I’ve always tried to incorporate into my personal style.

I hope you¬†have a great day, and I hope you like this new series! Please let me know what you’d like to see featured!

must-have pink pleated dress for spring! | under $35!

pink pleated dresspink pleated dress pink pleated dress pink pleated dress pink pleated dress pink pleated dress pink pleated dress pink pleated dress pink pleated dress pink pleated dress pink pleated dress pink pleated dress pink pleated dressHappy Monday!

I hope you had a great weekend! I finally am starting to feel a little better, and I’m so excited to finally start going out of the house again! haha. It’s the little things, really.

Also, daylight saving time starts this Sunday! FINALLY! I think I’m more excited about this than I ever have been before! Don’t you love it staying light outside longer? It makes me so much happier!

Anyway, on to this outfit! I have been loving pleats lately, so when I saw this little pink pleated dress I fell in love! It was under $35, too! It could even be a really cute Easter dress! I don’t know about you, but that is something I start looking for weeks in advance! It’s always been a huge deal to me to find a dress for that day that I love. This would be a great pick, in my opinion! It’s great for early spring with a jacket and would even be great for summer!

I paired it with neutral accessories to allow it to be the pop of color (along with the tulips which make me even more ready for spring!). I love adding designer accessories¬†to simple pieces. I prefer to spend a little more money on shoes or handbags that I know I’ll get a ton of wear out of and save on trendier things that I might not keep in my wardrobe as long.

I hope you have a great Monday and a great start to your week! Let me know what your favorite things to spend/save on are! I always love hearing new tips!

All my love!
