I’ll let you in on a little secret.
I am not the most organized person.
Those of you who know me are laughing out loud because that might be the understatement of the year. lol
I try, I really do. I buy all of the organization helpers, If I had all the money back I’ve spent on laundry hampers, little boxes and bins, etc. I’d be a lot better off! haha.
But, try as I do, I’m your typical type B personality. And I really am learning to love it.
Honestly, the only time in my whole life I can really say I’ve felt organized is when I was planning our wedding, and thank goodness, because I can’t imagine having not had everything kept together like I do in my typical, everyday life. lol
I really think what kept me together so much is writing absolutely everything down and keeping it in the same place.
I personally am so old school when it comes to planners and scheduling – even with the blog (which actually is maybe the only other area of life I manage to keep organized), I have to write everything down. I keep my to-do lists and deadlines in my planner, and so-far-so-good.
So, for the wedding, one of the first things I did was start researching planners.
I had already started keeping to-do lists in a regular notebook – I had this really cute one from Kate Spade.
But, I knew I needed a calendar and more elaborate kind of system, and I finally found this one by Erin Condren.
They’re customizable, so even though my engagement was going to be longer than the typical 12-months-or-less planner, it would be able to cover it. Plus, I absolutely LOVED that I could put pictures of Cody and me all over it. haha.
So, if those two simple tactics can keep a girl like me organized, they will work for anyone!
All my love!
